Welcome to De Laas Gul

DE LAAS GUL (DLG) – Pakistan is a multi-sectoral, registered, non-governmental organization (non profitable/non- political/non-religious). Established in 1976 Registered under Social Welfare Act 1961.
DLG aims to converge energies of young qualified, energetic and highly motivated professionals for translating the miseries of life into prosperity and uplifting the living standards of marginalized communities through means of sustainable development.

Known for its pioneering history and meeting all development challenges halfway, De Laas Gul Welfare Program has been bringing hope and happiness to despairing and anguished households for over three decades. Ever since its inception as a one room activity in Village Baja, Swabi, in 1976 by the born humanist and social activist, Ms. Meraj Humayun Khan, DLG has moved on to become one of the leading Non-Profit Development Organizations of KPK (NWFP), with deep trenched and far reaching social interventions in the region. Head quartered in Peshawar, the organization is also maintaining its regional offices in District Swabi, Charsadda and Mansehra.

The organization got its name from its original activity, vocational training in hand embroidery (hence the name ‘De Laas Gul’ which is Pashto word for ‘hand embroidered flower’).

DLG accomplished a progressive growth within short passage of time extending across various development sectors and enhanced geographical coverage made it an ever- extending DLG network.

All objective interventions and sustainable social change have been achieved through all concerted endeavours across all forms of human development, education, health, economic uplift, community development and emergency response programmes (ERPs).
