Board of Directors

  • PDF

The Board comprises of 9 well experienced members including the Chief Executive. Members are from diverse groups and professions and people held in great esteem due to their commitment, integrity and patriotism. The Governing body helps with finances, strategy and overall direction of the   organization. Governance systems and processes are clearly written that define responsibilities for terms of service, decision-making, strategy making, organizational program outcomes or ends, human resources, financial management, audit, Chief Executive’s evaluation/ compensation/succession, and other fiduciary and legal accountabilities.

The Chief Executive has developed a strong team of managers, some of whom have the skills and ability to replace the Chief Executive when needed. Governors/directors meets twice a year and are not involved in day-to-day operations  (unless invited by staff), staying focused on their higher-level accountabilities for organizational strategy and ends/outcomes. Governance systems and processes have been tested for more than 3 years. We’ve planned for leadership succession (board and senior management). Over 50% of governors/directors have been replaced as a result of completed terms of service
